The Physician’s Payment Sunshine Act is designed to increase transparency around the financial relationships between physicians and manufacturers of drugs. The federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act requires that detailed information about payment and/or other payments of value worth over ten dollars ($10) from manufacturers of drugs and medical devices to physicians be made available to the public.
For informational purposes only, a link to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Open Payments web page is provided here. It can be found at https://openpaymentsdata.cms.gov. Manufacturers now must submit annual data on payment to physicians via the Open Payments Program.
